Who we are

This website is run by Octoworks. If you have a question about your data, email us at steven@octoworks.org.

What we collect

Only what you enter in the Start a Project form: your name, work email, company, website, what kind of company you are, who the project is for and whether we should work under your brand (agencies only), what you need, your project description, the tools you use, when you want to start and how you heard about us.

We don't ask for payment details or sensitive personal information. Please leave out anything about your customers or clients that you aren't allowed to share.

How we use it

We use your details to read your brief, reply to it and, if we work together, to scope and run the project. When your brief arrives we send you one automatic confirmation email.

We don't add you to a mailing list, and we don't sell or share your details for marketing.

We handle your details because you asked us to reply to your brief, and with the consent you give when you tick the box on the form.

Who else handles it

Vercel hosts this website and processes the form when you send it. Resend delivers the emails: your brief to our inbox and the confirmation to yours. Our email provider stores the messages we receive. These services handle your details on our behalf to run the site and deliver email.

Like any website host, Vercel records basic technical information about each request, such as IP address and browser type, to keep the site secure and working. We also use your IP address for a few minutes to stop spam submissions.

Cookies and tracking

This site doesn't use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers. Our fonts and images are served from this site, so loading a page doesn't send your details to anyone else.

After you send a brief, your browser briefly keeps your first name and email in session storage so the thank-you page can greet you. It's cleared when you close the tab.

How long we keep it

We keep your brief while we reply to it and, if we work together, for as long as the project and our records need it. If we don't go ahead, we delete it once it's no longer needed. You can ask us to delete it at any time.

Your rights

You can ask to see the details we hold about you, correct them, or have them deleted. To ask, email us at steven@octoworks.org. We'll respond as quickly as we can, and within the time the law requires.

You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
